Unable to open classic power automate settings in canvas app editor.

Hello,

I've enabled the classic power automate settings in my canvas app, as I'm trying to add a flow that's causing me some trouble.

When I try to open it however, nothing happens.

I wanted to ask for some opinions on why it would be so.

It is the option in the menu on the right in the image below, being pointed at by the black arrow.

    Hi @Salim_A_M ,

In case by "classic settings", you mean the below screen, you can enter that by choosing  the Open option:

If this is not what you are looking for, please clarify what you wish to use this for.

I'm afraid I don't know what the screen I am looking for looks like, as I've only started looking on how to open it around a half hour ago.

Looking at the screenshot you sent however, this seems to be the settings of a canvas app? (I've also never seen this screen, pardon me)

What I'm looking for is, as described in the following link, the "Classic Power Automate experience"

Use Power Automate pane - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

Which led me to the button I've pointed at with an arrow in the screenshot in my post. The problem is that when I click on it, nothing is happening.

    Hi @Salim_A_M ,

I figured this was about Power Apps since you posted it in the Power Apps community, but it seems you were talking about Power Automate.

Assuming you are trying your flow through the Power Automate portal (make.powerautomate.com) , when editing a flow you should see an option on the top right of the screen to toggle between the classic and the new editing experience, although the new experience may be disabled because it does not yet support your flow:

I feel I may have not communicated the issue well.

I created this post in the powerapps community as this isn't directly a power automate issue, I'm not asking about how to create/edit a flow.
I want to add the flow to a canvas app, which is the main issue as I mentioned.

I've already tried to add the flow to the app as usual as seen in the below images, but it lead to an error.

As such, I sought help, which lead to me trying to open the classic power automate pane:

(The process of doing so being explained in the link I provided earlier: Use Power Automate pane - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn )

The main issue is that after enabling the classic power automate pane, the power automate button being shown in the ribbon, which I pointed at in the image in the original post, simply isn't working.

    Hi @Salim_A_M ,

When enabling the classic Power Automate pane in Power Apps studio as you described, you can find it under the ellipsis in the top bar when selecting, for instance, a button control:

    Hello everyone,

    I have the same problem.

The problem is that nothing happens when you click on the "Power Automate" option.

    @BCBuizer

    Yes, that is correct.

This is what this whole post is about.

    The button is not working.
    That's the issue.

I am seeking help as to why this could be happening.

    Hi @Salim_A_M ,

Thanks for clarifying. Indeed the button doesn't do anything for me either. I have tried switching authoring versions, for none of the available options I see any different behaviour:

What I suspect is that this experience has been retired as announced, but they forgot to remove it from the settings.

However, going back to the original issue where you are unable to add a flow, this may contain the solution: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Unable-to-add-flow/td-p/1603538

    Hello again @BCBuizer ,

Please excuse the late reply, I was somewhat busy.

Regarding the issue at hand, I'll be honest, it fixed itself. And I'm not even sure why.

I just opened the app and checked the flows, and it was there, for no apparent reason.

I also got into a call with Microsoft support, and the supporter determined that the issue was perhaps caused by permissions regarding the connections used in the flow, but that was never confirmed.

I did check the link (https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Unable-to-add-flow/td-p/1603538) that you provided in your latest reply, however the issue there is different from my case, even though the error message is the same.

I will note however, that during this whole ordeal, I actually tried to create a duplicate of the flow, and I did succeed in adding that duplicate to the solution, so this could technically be a way to get around this problem, however I did not want to do so as I was hoping we could find a solution for future uses too.

I wanted to thank you again for your time in trying to help.

    Good day.
