Deleting a Record Through SubGrid in Portals

Hey, I just added a subgrid that shows the list of educational information in my Applicant's web form. In the model driven, it is possible to delete a record from the sub grid as shown below

However, I don;t find a way to do the same in web form portal.

Is it possible to achieve that? Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Anonymous,

Please consider using the Associate/Disassociate or Create/Delete options through Web Form Metadata.

On the Web Form Step, go to Related Metadata

Click + New Web Form Metadata

    • Type: Subgrid
    • Subgrid Name: Educational Information
    • View Actions: +Create or Associate (choose Entity Form used in your custom button) based on if users are creating new records now or associating existing
    • Item Actions: +Edit (if you want to allow edit after create), +Delete / +Disassociate / +Deactivate
      • Note that deactivate might be nice, as it means they can't delete data permanently if they make mistakes, but you can have rules to cleanup this data if its been inactive for 7+ days or whatever is needed

Also make sure your entity permissions are in place. Please note that these buttons get added above the subgrid, so the previous code to move the custom add button won't work. If you want, you can keep the custom button, only add the Item delete/deactivate/disassociate action, and your line item in each grid will have the dropdown.

Thank you @justinburch , i've tried the create remove the previous custom button i've created before to see if it works and it worked, however the edit and the delete still didn't show up. ive configured the entity permission for educational detail and disable the javascript that hide the button in the top container. did i do something wrong?

Does the user have create & delete Entity Permissions on their web role?

Yes, @justinburch , i've assigned the web roles and enable all the privileges. is there anything else that i'm missing?

Hmm, that all looks correct. Just to be safe, you've refreshed the cache, yes? And Edu Details is the entity "Educational Information"?

Yes i've cleared the chace and it is still not showing up. does it have something to do with the subgrid i added in the form? or maybe the view?

Dear @justinburch , it finally works after I enable the entity permission in the entity form. Thank you so much!
