I have a canvas app running outside a solution, app is having some flows as well ..
here is some steps i followed
1. create a blank unmanaged solution
2.Added the app first
3. Add flows .. Here is the place i get issues .. After selecting the flow need to be added to solution , After pressing ADD , it keeps trying to add , but nothing will happen even after many hours .. keep trying to add
I would suggest you do a "Save as" on your flows, create copies and try to add those in. You can also try to export your flows, then import them into your environment and add to your solution.
Doing this sometimes helps. This may take 5-10 mins but it could solve your issue.
