Filtering gallery by a specific status value

Hello - I'm hoping someone can help me out here.  I working on an app and on one of the screens I want to show only requests that have been "submitted" by my client.  For example, if my client submits a request, the issue list defaults the status of the new request to "Request Submitted".  In Powerapps, I have created a new screen and connected my data source (Recruitment Tracker).  I'm designing the screen to look like cards for each submitted request.  I clicked insert, Gallery, Vertical then connected my data source.  Now I want to only show all of the requests that are in submitted status.  I'm sorry if this sounds confusing.  Can anyone help me???

    @heycanyouhelpme

    Modify your Items property to filter as needed.

    Ex:

       Filter(yourDataSource, yourStatusColumn = "Request Submitted"

    If the Status column is a choice column, then:

       Filter(yourDataSource, yourStatusColumn.Value = "Request Submitted"

    I hope this is helpful for you.

    Hi @RandyHayes - Unfortunately that didn't help.  So from the blank screen, I clicked on Gallery then chose Vertical.  Next I connected my data source (Recruitment Tracker).  In the FX box it says 'Recruitment Tracker'.  Do I edit the fx box and add the formula you provided? for example, change 'Recruitment Tracker' to Filter('Recruitment Tracker',Status.Value='Request Submitted')

    @heycanyouhelpme

    What did you try then that didn't work??

    Yes, you should alter the Items property on the Gallery to:

        Filter('Recruitment Tracker',Status.Value='Request Submitted')

    This assumes that your Status is a choices column and that you are using SharePoint.

    @heycanyouhelpme

    Are you stating that when your formula is 'Recruitment Tracker', you get results, but when using the Filter formula, you get none?

    If so, the again, is this SharePoint?  And, is the Status column a Choice column?  And, do you have any errors showing in that formula when you enter it?

    @RandyHayes

    Yes, my data source is a sharepoint issue list and the status column is a choice column.  I get a red x on the gallery.  I clicked get details and it says Issue: incompatible types for comparison.  These types can't be compared: Text, Error.

    We can't evaluate your formula because the values being compared in the formula aren't the same type.

    How to fix

    You might need to convert the value to be the same type, such as converting a date string

    @RandyHayes none of the status options are available to select when creating the formula.

    @heycanyouhelpme could you provide a screenshot which shows the app, the selected gallery and the formular for the items property?
