Hi Microsoft Support,
We are currently evaluating Microsoft Copilot Studio for an agent that retrieves answers from SharePoint documents. However, the search results are not highly relevant, and based on online resources (https://youtu.be/MqqKT6etxpQ?si=RDBGM_sXnPLepDnh), we suspect that licensing type impacts search performance and document indexing.
Current Setup:
- We have a Microsoft 365 license that includes Microsoft Copilot Studio Viral Trial.
- We are conducting a POC to evaluate Copilot’s ability to index and semantically search SharePoint documents.
Questions & Clarifications:
1. Search Capabilities & Licensing Differences
- What are the key differences between Microsoft Copilot Studio Viral Trial and Microsoft Copilot Studio License, specifically regarding search capabilities within SharePoint documents?
- Does the trial version(that we are currently using) have any limitations on document indexing and semantic search that could be affecting search relevance?
2. Choosing the Right License for POC
In the Microsoft License Portal, we see the following options:
- Microsoft Copilot Studio License (Tenant Level)
- Microsoft Copilot Studio User License
Could you please clarify:
- For our POC, which license is required to fully test semantic search and document indexing?
- Does semantic indexing require a tenant-level license, or can it be tested with just the user trial version?
- Would a Tenant-Level License for one month, along with a Microsoft Copilot Studio User License, be necessary to evaluate full search capabilities, or is the user license alone sufficient?
Request:
Based on our current use case, please advise:
- If the trial version is enough for proper testing.
- If purchasing a Tenant-Level License for one month is necessary, or if a Microsoft Copilot Studio User License alone is sufficient.
- The best license type for our long-term use.
Thank you, and we appreciate your guidance.
Best regards,
Abhishek Vyas
