H All  - Some quick licensing questions if I could.

In my organization I have I power Apps for developer license in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

ctedesco3307_0-1665077497235.png

I created a Power App that I want to share with some colleagues.

I published the app.  When I click on share, I can't get anyone to come up in the share.

The people I want to share to do not have the Microsoft Powe Apps for Developer license checked off in their Microsoft Office admin profiles, nor does this organization have any other PA Pay Per User Plans.  The users all have access to the dataverse environment the app is in.

Can I share my app?

Thanks

    Hello @ctedesco3307

If you want to share the app with other users, they need to have some kind of Power Apps license in order to be able to see and use the app. Otherwise, you cannot share the app with them. Also, they need access to any data or website you are using.

Prerequisites to share a canvas app with your organization:

Share a canvas app with your organization - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

Power Apps Licensing: Pricing - Power Apps (microsoft.com)

Let me know if it this helps you!

@emadrigal  - Yeah - I know all this too-- thank you -- I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what speifically these 2 license types provide, does it allow the users to access the apps, and what is the difference between them

Microsoft Power Apps for Developer: access to all apps and some premium features

Sign up for Power Apps Developer Plan - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

    The plan enables you to:

    • Create apps and flows without writing code, with full-featured Power Apps and Power Automate development tools. Easily share and collaborate on these solutions with others.

    • Connect to any data source by using 400+ out of the box connectors or by creating your own custom connectors.

Microsoft Power Apps Plan 2 Trial: access to apps

    Plan 2 trial is discontinued.

The new one is Power Apps 30-day free trial - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn

You can explore all the Power Apps capabilities for free by signing up for a 30-day Power Apps trial plan. If you don't have any license for Power Apps, the trial plan provides temporary access to do the following activities:

    • Extend the capabilities of Office 365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, Excel, and more)
    • Create and run canvas apps that connect to Microsoft Dataverse and a wide range of more than 200 other data sources, including premium connectors and on-premises data
    • Create and run model-driven apps
    • Create automated workflows with Power Automate
    • Create and manage environments and Dataverse databases

If you have a Power Apps license or a license through Office 365, you already have access to some of these features. However, the trial license temporarily expands your access to include all features in the previous list. To find out what capabilities each type of license offers, see the pricing page

If you don't have any license and want to try Power Apps, you could try this one and then decide if you want to purchase another license depending on what you want.

@emadrigal Thanks much. I was just trying to test with one of my users and we got stuck here.  She can get into the dev environment, but can't select the Allow button when she clicks on the App.

Don't Allow just goes back to the Apps page.   (scroll down please)

I just went and purchased one of these -

    ctedesco3307_1-1665177813295.png

but i don't see any different options available to pick from to assign it to her. Did I pick the right one?

    Thank you again.
