Offline App Attachments

Hello,
Ive been struggling for 2 days with this and kinda have it at least 50% working..?

I have an offline canvas app that needs to have a form with attachments.

I've read i need to update my mobile offline profile to include notes, fileattachment and image descriptor.
Doing that got me to the point where the files upload from the app and are viewable when you use the app on a browser.
But aren't viewable when you use it on the powerapps mobile app, so for the user uploading the files it looks like nothing happens so they just keep trying and end up uploading 5x the files.

I have no idea how to do a monitor session for the phone app which doesnt help.
Also my dang dataverse table doesnt even show an attachment column anymore not sure when that changed?

At my wits end any help would be awesome.
Thanks
I have the same question (0)

    hello @

It sounds like you're dealing with a complex issue involving offline capabilities in PowerApps, specifically with attachments not displaying correctly on mobile devices. Let's break down the problem and explore potential solutions.

Steps to Troubleshoot and Resolve the Issue

    1. Verify Offline Profile Configuration:

      • Ensure that your offline profile includes all necessary entities: notes, fileattachment, and imagedescriptor.
      • Double-check the configuration settings to make sure they are correctly set up for offline use.
    2. Check Dataverse Table Configuration:

      • Verify that your Dataverse table has the correct columns for attachments. If the attachment column is missing, you might need to reconfigure the table or check if there have been any updates or changes to the schema.
    3. Monitor Session for Mobile App:

      • Unfortunately, monitoring sessions directly on the PowerApps mobile app can be challenging. However, you can use the PowerApps Monitor tool to debug your app. This tool allows you to see what happens when users interact with your app, including data operations and errors.
      • To use PowerApps Monitor:
        1. Open your app in PowerApps Studio.
        2. Go to Monitor from the left-hand menu.
        3. Start a new monitoring session and share the session link with the user experiencing the issue.
        4. Have the user open the link on their mobile device and interact with the app. You should be able to see the logs and identify any issues.
    4. Implement User Feedback Mechanism:

      • Since users are unaware that their files are being uploaded, consider adding a visual indicator or message that confirms the upload. This can be a simple notification or a progress bar.
    5. Check for Updates and Known Issues:

      • Ensure your PowerApps mobile app is up-to-date. Sometimes, issues are resolved in newer versions.
      • Check the PowerApps community forums and Microsoft documentation for any known issues related to attachments in offline mode.

    Can you explain this part

Doing that got me to the point where the files upload from the app and are viewable when you use the app on a browser.
But aren't viewable when you use it on the powerapps mobile app, so for the user uploading the files it looks like nothing happens so they just keep trying and end up uploading 5x the files.

What isn't viewable? All upload types are not viewable on the mobile app.
