Hello All

I need to create an App that would work for both Mobile and Tablet (responsive). I've been reading and watching some videos for Responsive App and find them complicated. A lot of formulas for  width height x y, and text font size etc and fine tuning for views on monitor, ipad, and phone .

Now I'm wondering if which approach will be the best:
1) create the responsive app or

2) create 2 apps: one for App and one for Tablet

Please help me to choose the best and less painful way 🙂

Regards

Angela

    Re: Responsive PowerApps

One option would be to consider model-driven app over canvas app. They are responsive by default, and depending on your business case, might be also easier to implement. And if still there would be need for a custom page, I would simply add a "custom page" to a model-driven app, that way you have less responsiveness to handle.

With the choices you have provided, I would do only one app, for both tablet and phone, and follow this learning path with things to keep in mind to keep it responsive.

    Re: Responsive PowerApps

Your best choice will be to take the time to make the Canvas App responsive.  The key is to do the following

    1) Use Containers to organize the controls on your screen into manageable chunks

    2) Set X, Y, Height, and Width relative to the inside of the container holding the controls.

It is more difficult, but will give you a much better result.  Building two apps won't solve the problem because each PC and phone will also have unique dimensions, so even two apps won't fill the whole screen.

Also, adding a Canvas app to a Model driven app won't make the Canvas app responsive, so I wouldn't recommend that approach.
