Boost Conversations - Azure OpenAI Data Source not returning results

I used Azure OpenAI Studio, got gpt-4 deployed, added my own data source, was able to use it to have a conversation and inquire about the data source. Things were great. Then deployed to Copilot Studios as a new copilot, no matter what I do it does not give me any insights or answers related to my data source.

"I’m sorry, I’m not sure how to help with that. Can you try rephrasing?"

This is what I get instead. All the properties are correct for the boost conversation, I've tried updating them to anything / everthing else I can think of. Nothing.

Tried another bot, nothing.

How can I better troubleshoot this? What am I doing wrong exactly? Is this a permissions issue I'm just not seeing?

If anyone has this same issue I actually found out why this doesn't work. Also anyone from microsoft please for the love of god make this more apparrent.

It's all about where your data is located. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/data-location?tabs=web

If you're not in one of those geo locations listed then it won't work. In my case I was in us east 2 but it only works in us east.

Seriously what a pain. Hope that helps someone else out there so you don't have to struggle like I did. Cheers.

I am actually located in Uk south and I am having exactly the same problem as you. Did you manage to sort the problem?

Looks like they changed that webpage since I posted my answer... 😕

But @Freddie_B in azure openai studio (https://oai.azure.com/portal), in the top right you see uk south? When you deployed a copilot from there if you did it in the right region you should be good to go but I'll look around to see what I can find too.

Hey @konnor-willison ,

Yes, I can see UK South. However, when I try to deploy and open a new window to create a new bot, there is nothing displayed in the conversational boosting topic. Interestingly, if I click on the plus sign to add a connection, it appears, but all the properties are empty. I've tried filling them manually, but it still doesn't seem to be working 🙄.

Hello everyone,

I seem to have the same issue, even if i located all ressources in France central, which is supported. Still, I can't make the copilot work. Did someone manage to solve the issue?
