Choices column from Sharepoint list showing incorrect values

I've created a combox within a blank gallery for which the Items Property is Choices('SharepointList'.'Reason') which correctly pulls back the values in the formula bar.

 

However, within the dropdown it's showing a numerical value.  Why isn't it showing the text values from the choice column?

    Hi @Mawdman85 , I believe you are using modern combo box? What is the DefaultSelectedItems property of combo box?

    Basically you need to add proper field using the above step. DO not get confused with above screenshot fields. It is just reference for you to check what fields are added.
