Dataverse Usage with Model Driven Vs. Canvas App

Hello,

I am trying to figure out license model. Users in an organization with "PowerApps per app baseline access" are able to access app built using combination of Model driven + Dataverse(Custom Entities) however similar set of users are getting error "You do not have valid powerapps plan.To access PowerApps you must have a PowerApps plan assigned to you by your organization or the organization in which you're a guest." for combination of Canvas app + Dataverse(Custom Entities)

Can someone share MS documents/articles to understand this?

Regards,

-NK

    Hello @nileshvk

    Hope you are doing good.

Please make sure Errored user having PowerApp License. If yes then make sure the User is having Proper Security Role available.

    Steps to Check Security Role:

    1. Navigate to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com

    2. Open Dataverse Environment

    3. Click Settings at the Top

    4. Click Users

    5. Open the User (who is getting the error) --> If the user is not having Security role --> Assign Security Role to the user.

@rampprakash , As I mentioned users with "PowerApps per app baseline access" are able to access Model-Driven app but not able to access canvas app. I am curious to know reasons for the same.

    Hi @nileshvk ,

As per Microsoft docs, for power app per app license. User have access to either one model driven or canvas app and portal app. Once it has been shared and user accessed that app, he will not be able to access any other app.

Attaching link for your reference. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-powerapps-perapp#consumption-of-per-app-licensing

If it answers your question. Kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

    Regards,

    Prakash
