Sage 50 connector for PowerApps - Production Order Processing

ReportReport
Posted on by 2

We have set up the SAGE 50 connector and currently extract the following production report as a pdf to OneDrive, this is then printed and taken to the manufacturing workshop. The production operative then completes the order updates the report and it is then filed away.  What I am building is a PowerApps that, in addition to housekeeping and health and safety reporting, will present the below report on a tablet that can be updated by the operative.

I think I need a connector to extract the data fields for this report that writes to the DataVerse/ Azure and have PowerApps point to the data to to update the order progress and quality assurance fields.. There isn’t the need to write back to SAGE.

I hope this makes sense and wonder if you have a solution / come across this before?

I have the same question (0)

    Here are the steps:

    Sage 50 doesn’t have a built-in Dataverse connector, but you can use alternatives like:: Sage 50 SDK (for on-premise installations): This allows you to programmatically access Sage 50 data. ODBC Driver: Use an ODBC connection to query Sage 50's database directly.

    Dataverse is a great choice for storing structured data that integrates seamlessly with PowerApps.
    • Create a custom table in Dataverse to store:
      • Order Details (e.g., Order ID, Product, Quantity, etc.)
      • Progress Updates
      • Quality Assurance Fields
    Use PowerApps to present the production report data on tablets for updates.
    Create a gallery or data table to display the production report fields. Use the Patch or SubmitForm function to save updates back to Dataverse
    Patch(
        ProductionTable,
        ThisItem,
        {
            Progress: txtProgress.Text,
            QAStatus: dropdownQA.Selected.Value
        }
    )
