I bought a Copilot Studio user license, but when I try to assign it, I only see Power Virtual Agents license to be assigned. Is it ok? Why I can't assign the Copilot Studio license?

    Hello,

have you tried to raise the ticket to MS Support? Did you buy the prepaid license (25k messages/month)?

    Best regards,

    Hi,
It sounds like you're encountering a license assignment issue in Power Platform. Here's a breakdown of the situation and possible reasons for it:

    1. Copilot Studio vs Power Virtual Agents Licenses

    • Copilot Studio and Power Virtual Agents licenses are separate, but they can work together. If you are only seeing the Power Virtual Agents license option, it could be that your Copilot Studio license is associated with a different service or platform that needs to be activated first, or you might need to ensure that your Copilot Studio license is properly integrated into your environment.

    2. Common Reasons for Seeing Only Power Virtual Agents License:

    • License Visibility Issue: It's possible that the Copilot Studio license is not yet correctly linked to your environment or account. In some cases, it might take time for a new license to be reflected in your Power Platform admin center.

    • Permissions and Role Assignment: Ensure that you have the necessary administrative rights to assign the Copilot Studio license to users in your environment.

    • Licensing Plan Mismatch: The Copilot Studio license might need to be applied specifically to a user role or service that is not covered by the Power Virtual Agents license.

    Steps You Can Try:

    1. Confirm Copilot Studio License Status:

      • Log in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and verify that the Copilot Studio license is active.
    2. Check Admin Permissions:

      • Make sure you are an admin in the Power Platform environment and that you have sufficient rights to assign licenses.
    3. Re-check the License Assignment:

      • Try assigning the Copilot Studio license again in the Power Platform admin center. Sometimes it might be visible only after a refresh or after you navigate through different sections (e.g., user management or licensing).
    4. Contact Microsoft Support:

      • If you're still facing issues, it might be a good idea to reach out to Microsoft support to confirm that your Copilot Studio license is properly linked to your account and environment.

    What to Do Next:

If you cannot assign the Copilot Studio license directly, try:

    • Assigning the Power Virtual Agents license if it aligns with your use case and integrates well with your Copilot Studio usage.
    • Wait for the license to sync properly across your system, especially if you've recently purchased or made changes to your subscriptions.

Thank you both for your responses. We will try the different steps provided and if not working will contact Support. It's +24h since we bought the license so I don't think it's a time issue after many refreshes.

    More details:
    - We initially bought the Copilot Studio license (the 25k messages one) for the company; Then realized we also need the user license and did it separately.
    - Since we adquired the Copilot Studio user license the Power Virtual Agents license appears to be assigned but not the Copilot Studio one, as you can see in the imatges.

Again, thank you for your responses, have a happy new year!

    Hello,

I don't think you need any user license if you've bought the Copilot Studio 25k messagess one. After assigning it to the environment, you should be able to assign Copilot Studio user licenses to the people.

In case of any other questions, let me know. If the answer helped you, mark it, so that others can benefit from it.

    Best regards,
