Combo box value not showing in text label upon app startup

I have a combo box named "ddFormStatus" with a DefaultSelectedItems value is set to ["PROPOSAL REQUEST"]. I have text label's Text parameter set to ddFormStatus.selected.value. When the app loads that text label is empty even though the combo box is showing "PROPOSAL REQUEST'.

Sorry I did not mention the choices for the combo box are coming from a choice colun in a sharepoint list.

I have no idea about choice columns. I refuse to use them as they are a complete pain and waste of time in my opinion. They are on my list to learn but not at the top by any means. I just use dropdowns and text fields instead of choice columns bc CC's make literally everthing they come into contact with 5x more difficult than it needs to be 😛 there are plenty of people on here that will be able to take what I have given you and make it work with what you have tho!

I tried the same scenario its working fine. I tried to replicate your issue but was not able to do so.

for your reference:-
DefaultSelectedItems:["Choice 1"]
items:Choices(Test.Choices)
Label:ComboBox5.Selected.Value

i tried reset i tried loading the app like you did it worked for me all time and value is displayed in label
