Web API Component Sample

Hello,

I am learning PCF and wanted to use the above link to get single record data via web api.

I am using the sample from the below link

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/developer/component-framework/sample-controls/webapi-control

I did Test Harness, no issues and then used command line code to import the solution to Dynamics CRM. The solution is appearing in Dynamics CRM but the control is not appearing in the Add Control while adding Custom Controls to the form.

Can anyone help me where I am missing??

Many Thanks!!!

    Hello amd13,

    Thank you for your post.

What did you see on the solution that you have imported?

Did you try to import the solution manually via the UI and see if the control is not showing in the add control?

    Thank you

Thanks a lot. The issue is resolved,I was trying to add Web api sample component in a form/dashboard but later came to know it is a field control.

I am still looking for a control/solution which shows single record in a control. We tried suing the  web api sample but it will not fit to our requirements.

    Req

I have built a dataset control and placed in dashboard and now when user clicks on a field record, this too has to be shown in a control in a form.

    Any suggestions!

I do not understand what is the requirement.

when the customer click on the field record, you want the information to be showed in another control field in the dashboard or in a form?

Could you please provide explanation to understand better the requirement?

    Thank you

The above one is pcf dataset control ,when I click on Bob Smith ,I want to show in a lead form in a  pcf control like the below.

So in test area we will place lead fields and show the data.

I think the above will help to understand requirement.

    Hello @amd13

Have you try to do that with PowerApps?  I believe that it is more simple for you.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/embedded-canvas-app-guidelines

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/model-driven-apps/embedded-canvas-app-add-classic-designer

Example that you can check for your requirement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivvh49bsH0M

    Thank you

@jekakaou, Thank you for the suggestions. We will look into embedded apps too which is completely new.

The reason of trying the  web api sample was for that specific requirement and wished to know whether with web api,it is achievable and how??

I too would recommend using using a Canvas control as they are far far easier to create but if you need samples using the web api please see:
