I'm not sure if I worded this question correctly but here is what I am dealing with. I have several combo boxes that are populated by their own data sources. There are also a few text fields. What I would like to do is make sure all of the 'required' fields are filled out before the submission happens. Since these fields don't live in an editable form what is the best way to go about doing this or can these fields all be added to a form?
@Future_Vision
Not entirely sure on your wording, but I believe I am tracking you.
So, you have comboboxes (in your EditForm?) and these pull values from other datasources? This is all fine. The Update property of the datacard that they are contained in will determine what is written to the form datasource.
You just need to make sure you are using the selected values from your comboboxes.
I hope this is helpful for you.
After some research I found that I can take an edit form and swap out the fields with custom fields.
Yes, you can do that and much more. You might want to check out my comprehensive video on EditForms to learn all of the things you can do with them. It's long, but parts 3 and 4 of the video really show you things you can do with an Edit for that will open up your whole concept of EditForms.
