I have a Power App that I want to share with various hourly employees within my department. This app is based on a SharePoint List (Safety Good Catch Items) that does a Lookup from two columns/fields in another SharePoint List (EmployeeShort). I have opened the SharePoint Site Permissions and set the permissions for an individual to "Edit" for the SP Safety Good Catch List and "Read" for the SP EmployeeShort list. Based on what I can determine, the Read for the EmployeeShort does not allow the user to enter a new record in the Safety Good Catch List (due to a Lookup field/column). If I change the EmployeeShort permission from “Read” to “Edit”, the user can enter records in the Safety Good Catch List; however, they can then also modify the EmployeeShort list which needs to be protected. How do I resolve this?
Hi @RJF61 ,
I am assuming you have a permission level for the individuals you are looking up in EmployeeShort ? If you look up the permission levels, you can restrict the FormMode to Edit or View depending on the user. Is this what you are asking ?

@WarrenBelz Thanks for the response. This Permission piece is giving me "fits".
Following is screen shot of Site permissions. Listed is an employee that I want to have Read capabilities to the EmployeeShort list, but not the ability to change records. If I change Site permissions to "Read", the Flow - Get items action doesn't seem to work.
Yes unfortunately read-only permissions in SharePoint frequently cause issues in Power Apps and Power Automate - I have given up applying them and simply control user access in Power Apps/
