Autocomplete in a text box in powerapps form

Hello,

I have a site that was migrated from Sharepoint Online.
For a particular library, I have integrated the form with Powerapps.
I haven't changed anything special in the form other then the colors.
The users would like to have the same functionality that had in SP OnPremises, when they type something in a text field, to suggest an already typed item in the same text field.
This is not happening by default in PowerApps forms.
Is there any easy way to achieve that?

I repeat that this is a text field and not a combo box. And to change it to combo is out of question.

Thank you,
Nikos

    Hi skatzis,

    There is no default way to achieve this in Power Apps. I have tried to create something simple based on your use case.
    I have added a ListBox control under a TextInput control to display all the items that match the input text entered by the user. Here's how it looks:
    Upon making a selection:

    To get more suggestions, the User will need to remove this selection and type a keyword again.

    Here's how I did it.
    ListBox Items:
    Distinct(
        Filter(
            DataSource,
            StartsWith(
                Title,
                TextInput.Text
            )
        ),
        Title
    )
    OnSelect Property:
    Set(varSelectedTitle, ListBox.Selected.Value)
    Visbile Property:
    !IsBlank(TextInput.Text) && IsBlank(varSelectedTitle)
    Text Input default value:
    varSelectedTitle
    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Nandit

    Another option - I did a blog on this a little while back. Nandit's process should also work - it is is really which is best for you.

    Hi,
    Before I verify Nandit's answer I have to mention two things.
    a) the library has a lot of rows: more than 60000. is this search functional?
    b) The way that this works in SP 2013 is irrelevant with the library. The search is related ONLY to what the user types in the box whether or not this exists inside the library. Something like the history of the browsers. This doesn't work in the powerapps form but it works in SP OnPremises form.

    Thank you,
    Nikos

    Both solutions use StartsWith, which is Delegable (so they should work), however I am certain that multiple leading characters will need to be typed in to get the selection down to a manageable number if you have 60k possibilities.

    Thank you for your answers but I need a functionality like this below taken from the form in SP OnPremises

    When the user clicks on the form field it opens the saved data below the field.
    No extra fields. Just the browser's functionality I think.
    It seems that this is not possible in powerapps forms.

    Your last comment is correct - what has been offered is the best you will achieve with Power Apps.
