Regarding 1st time interaction with bot in teams - default message in 'type your question here' text bot in desktop teams

When we launch the bot in Desktop teams v 1.4, we are getting ‘Dummy Bot’ text in ‘type your message here’ text box at 1st time, but its not coming in v 1.3.

When it comes to web teams (we couldn’t see the version (Microsoft has different update policy for web vs Desktop teams)), we couldn’t’ see this test message at 1st time.

In Desktop teams v1.4, when the user press enter with that default 1st time message, its responding ‘looks like you are sending attachments, please try without attachment’, but user able to conversate with it after this message in usual way as we excepts.

    Hi @VishalWankhede2 ,

Is this issue affecting all users or just a few of them/only you?

I haven't come across this issue specifically but the fact that it is not happening in the web client but seems to be an issue on the desktop client would suggest that it could be simply down to caching.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest clearing cache in the following local folders (please note that this will not delete any history of your chats etc., this is just local cache:

    Application Cache – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\Application Cache

    Blob_Storage  – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\Blob_Storage (If there)

    Cache – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\Cache

    databases – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\databases

    IndexedDb – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\IndexedDB

    GPUCache  – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\GPUCache

    LocalStorage  – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\LocalStorage

    Tmp – %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\tmp

You'll need to close your Teams client first, delete cache and then reopen the app.

Please let me know if this solves the issue for you.

    Warm regards,

    Kristine
