I am new to this forum and welcome any comments.
Rather than using SharePoint I've chosen to import my excel data into Dataverse tables. When I add a item such as (text box, label, combo box, list box, etc.) and choose Microsoft Dataverse to retrieve my tables, the table created under the display name is not there all I have to choose from is the plural name. the problem I am having is that when it brings up the plural version of the table there are only two columns the first column from the original (Display Name) table and the second column showing the creation date. I try importing them using solutions, but the same problem exists. I can only assume I'm doing something wrong can someone point me in the right direction.
Thank you for all the advice, I was able to go in and add the columns to the active plural version of the table and save it. When I go back to the singular table and go into edit it will bring up the plural version of the table which still only has two columns, also when I go into a blank canvas app and click on the data table preview that also only brings up two columns.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, I thought that the plural version would be the same table as the singular table but just with different functionality to operate in an app. If the plural table is a separate entity from the singular table and if I add records to the plural table because it's in my app does the singular table get updated. If I build relationships within the singular table but those columns don't even exist in the plural table which I would be making adjustments to because it's in the app. I don't understand the functionality of having two different types of tables if they're not going to be identical and when a change is made to one it should be made to the other also.
Thank you for any help you can give
Hi @Sinclairm1027 ,
The default "Views" that will exist when you create tables will contain the Display Name and the Creation Date. You can go into the Table in the Maker Portal and go into the "Views" and the default view will usually be the Active <plural name> view. Edit this and add any columns that exist on the table. Of course you can add new columns as well to the table and then add them to the views.
I followed your procedure, but the layout of your version is not the same as mine and I believe I swayed off course. I do believe I'm on the right track with your procedure because the plural version of the table has more columns than it did before, but the columns are not correct. I wrote up a step-by-step procedure so you can see what I did along with the original spreadsheet.
I also added another post, I have accumulated a lot of junk tables that I need to delete but can't delete them because of publish dependencies. looking to see if you can unpublish a table.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
