Hi,

How can I get the location of a click/touch event? I would like to know where the user clicks on an image from a coordinate standpoint (x, y), not via a hot spot that could be handled by having a control on the hot spots.

Is there a way to get to the mouse-click/press/selcted coordinates?

Hi Olivier,

It seems that we can get the Coordinate standpoint(X,Y) of an image, but we are not able to get the Coordinate Standpoint(X,Y) of where we click on the image.

Hi Radu,
I hope you can help me with this weird error - please see attached picture. This occures when I try to save coordinates in a backend SQL server (Office 365). Fields for latitude and longitude are defined as numeric, floating (variable decimals) so I don't think this may be the issue.
Can you look into this for me, as I am not able to go forward with my app...

Depending on the granularity of the image and x, y co-ordinates you need, you could try placing a grid of transparent rectangles infront of the image, with an onselect in each rectangle that returns the grid reference.

Not sure what the max number of controls is and what the performance limitations will be.

Try making the rectangles one pixel in size and see what happens! 🙂

Hi Guys,
I also ran into the problem of needing to know the coordinates of a mouseclick.
I tried LozzieD's solution. And in this case it works :-).
I made a grid of 40x40 squares of 20x20pixels each. That made 1600 controls (all little buttons).

The solution works, but the 1600 controls irritate Powerapps a bit. Suddenly Powerapps functions like 'move forward' and 'move backward' did not work anymore. A video I included didn't play. Long story short; I wouldn't recommend this solution. Unless it's a one-time app (as it was in my case).

Microsoft can capture these coordinates in their framework and make them available in the onselect event handler without too much effort on their end.

It might be a good idea to add your support to all ideas that suggest these sorts of features.

This is still not supported. If an image map is the effect you are looking for, it can be somewhat simulated with a 2D grid built out of galleries and overlaying an image.
