Conversational Boosting - No Longer Triggering

Hi all, 
 
I believe my Copilot Studio has updated over the weekend. It has the new capability for triggers and conversation map is now called planner…
 
However, it looks like with this update the conversational boosting is no longer used and it is using the uploaded knowledge sources almost as a plugin. 
 
This has meant the customisation I’d created within the conversation boosting topic to display citations a certain way & give end users the ability to rate the AI answers is now being bypassed. 
 
I have disabled the conversation boosting topic & the bot still generates answers from the knowledge source. 
I have used the planner/conversation map and it just shows ‘Knowledge Sources’ now and not the conversation boosting topic
 
Is there a way around this at all?

    Yes i have also noticed the recent behaviour. But fortunately the response from Copilot seems to be more meaningful with proper citation. So i ignored the custom citation references.
     
    Anyhow, whenever we customize the Conversational Boosting topic, we already know that it will be triggered only when the Intent is unknown. Now copilot is evolved to understand the user context more and so the unknown intent trigger doesnt happen unless it really doesnt get a related topic.
     
    So i would suggest you to move the customizations to a different topic (or) create a new topic with proper description so that copilot can automatically use the new topic trigger instead of using the Conversational boosting topic. When this custom topic is triggered, then it has to follow your steps that you customized.

    I’m happy to also ignore the new citations appearance even though they don’t look the best when the bot is deployed to Teams. 
     
    The part however I would like to still be able to do is provide some quick replies following Copilot providing an answer from these uploaded knowledge sources.
     
    Prior to this release, I had disabled the generative answer node sending its own message and stored it as a variable which I’d show in a message with 2 quick replies of “helpful” or “unhelpful” - which I then was able to automate some custom reporting to enable me to tweak knowledge sources accordingly if unhelpful. And if unhelpful I was able to show an option to escalate to a human.
     
    Are you aware if there is a way I can set next steps following Copilot providing an answer from a knowledge source?

    I’ve found a way around this.
     
    I have created a new topic with the trigger as ‘Plan Complete’
     
    I can then put my quick replies in this topic as this topic triggers after the bot has provided an answer.
