I am trying to perform a very simple filter on a gallery. I am trying to filter the HJF_Team table based on the global variable which has been set (Open Season).

Filter(HJF_Teams, TeamYear = OpenSeason)

I am getting the infamous error,
Incompatible types for comparison. These types can't be compared: Record, Text.

I have researched and researched this for hours, but have not be able to find a solution.
Any help anyone can provide which be epic. I am new to PowerApps, so this definitely a learning process me.

    Hi,

The issue is, you are comparing a Record (TeamYear) to a Text (OpenSeason)

If you were to do this.

TeamYear. <==== add the period, you will assuredly get a popup of things to pick from.

That's because your TeamYear field is probably a LookUp to another table, aka making it a record.

Trust me... go to your Table, and Take a Picture of your list of Columns and specifically TeamYear... it will be a lookup.

The error is because one of the values you are comparing is an object, not a simple string.  It could be either the TeamYear or the OpenSeason.  To find out which add a period '.' after the value and see if IntelliSense offers you some property names in the dropdown. If it does that value is an Object not a string.  You need to select the string property from IntelliSense to have the comparison work.
