Error when user denies the confirmation message of an action

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue that affects all actions and Copilots I create, and I’m trying to understand why it happens.

When the bot triggers an action—whether it's a predefined action or a Power Automate flow—and the option "Ask the user before running this action" is enabled, the following happens:

  1. If the bot prompts the user with a confirmation message (e.g., "Should I check the weather for $LOCATION?" or "Should I send the email with $SUBJECT and $BODY?") and the user confirms, the action executes without any issues.
  2. If the user wants to make changes, the Copilot accepts the updates, provides an updated confirmation message, and proceeds correctly after confirmation.
  3. However, if the user responds with "No" (e.g., "Don't check the weather" or "Don't send the email"), I consistently receive a generic error message:
"Sorry, something went wrong. Error code: SystemError."

This issue occurs across all actions and action types I've tried and persists across all Copilots or Agents I’ve created.

I have attached two screenshots for reference: one showing a successful run of an action and another showing the error message after the user does not confirm the action.

My main question is:

  • Why does this error occur when the user denies the action?
  • Do I need to define a specific message or response for when the user denies an action?
  • I haven’t been able to find any configuration option for handling a "No" response.

Has anyone else faced this problem or knows what might be causing it? Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Luka

Error when user denies the confirmation message of an action
Hi, I had the same issue. Contacted support, and they told me a fix would be deployed in December/January. In my case, it seems to be already deployed and i no longer get the "something went wrong" error. Maybe try again too or file a ticket.

    Best regards,
    Fabian

Error when user denies the confirmation message of an action
Hi Artur, thanks for your answer. I have pasted the images directly into my post.
As for your suggestion: the "OnError" topic is active, but this error doesn't seem to use it, as the error message does not look like the one defined in the topic.

Anyways, I have found a workaround. Since topics now allow input variables that can be dynamically filled by the bot, I could replicate the function of the plugin action in a topic. In this topic I can define what happens, when the user clicks on "No". Still, it seems strange that the plugin actions wouldn't have some kind of path for a user choosing not to execute it.

Error when user denies the confirmation message of an action
    Hello Luka,

unfortunately I'm not able to see the images, could you please paste them directly in the message?
Nevertheless, I assume that SystemError is raised due to the fact that the exception is not handled properly. What you could try out to see if it works is to use a system topic On Error (I'm sorry for Polish :-)):

That way you could handle the exception based on the error message.

In case of any other questions, let me know. If the answer is correct, mark it as a solution, so that others can benefit from it.

    Best regards,
