DataCard Update Kicking Back Error When I Replace Dropdowns with Labels

I have SharePointList1. The user is using a customized SharePoint form (Form1) to interact with the data.

Form1 includes two DataCards that currently have Dropdowns to display the data.

The Dropdowns have Choices([@'List1'].DepartmentName) and Choices([@'List1'].AgencyName).

I have been tasked with replacing the Dropdown controls with disabled Labels that contain the same content.

I have created the Labels and been able to get the appropriate content to auto-populate.

However, the DataCard 'Update' is kicking back an error.

When I copy and paste the original DataCardValue name (DataCardValue21 and DataCardValue22) to the new Labels and delete the Dropdowns and add DataCardValue21.Text and DataCardValue22.Text to the 'Update' of each DataCard they kick out the error.

How do I correct this issue so that the 'Update' error will clear?

I'd add the dropdowns back in and simply set their DisplayMode to Disabled.

Your issue using the labels is because Choice columns are Complex data type - meaning they are tables - so the Update property expects a Table, not a Text string. You could write some complex code to sort this out inside the Update property but it sounds like my first suggestion would do the trick.

    Thank you for the reply.

I'll do one better - add the Label, have it referenxe the dropdown, and civer and/or hide the dropdown.

Not sure why you asked the question if you had the solution already.

    All the best.

I didn't have the solution. Your response triggered the thought in my mind, and for that I thank you.
