Dataverse licensing issue

Hello Community,

Happy Holidays to everyone!

I am currently developing PowerApps using dataverse. It was working fine but the issue that i am facing is when the app shared to the users it looks like they need a PowerApps premium license to be able to use it.

So the question that i have for the community, is that true?

1. You need a premium PowerApps license to be able to user the app with dataverse connection?

2. Is there a way to avoid this costly license? My users need to just view the data, not to add, edit or delete.

Now, if that is the case, the company i worked with said. I need to request Per App license that cost $20.00 per month to be able to use the application i made. So, for 50 users of my app, that is going to be expensive ($1000) per month.

Right now i am in the verge of deciding to terminate the app and not to go forward. Any advice.

Thank you

    Hi @echodapogi ,

Dataverse connector is a premium connector.

I suggest you use some databases like SharePoint because it's a standard connector.

    Best Regards,

    Hi @echodapogi

Every time we use dataverse we have to use premium licenses that have the indicated cost.

IN this case, you must evaluate whether $1000 is really expensive or not, seeing that you can make N applications and you will always be paying the same $20 per user. In this sense, if you are only going to develop 1 application it may seem expensive.

Now, if you are only going to develop 1 application, there is another license, which is Power Apps, user per application, which has a cost of $5. It is not on the website, but in the licensing guide, if you have it, from $1000 you reduce it to $250.

The issue with using Sharepoint is that you will not be able to use Model Driven Apps but rather Canvas, and ALM issues you will not be able to do so because Sharepoint is not prepared for it.

    Hi @echodapogi

Dataverse connection requires Premium License, so try using SharePoint or OneDrive

    Hi @echodapogi

If both the person who develops the application and the person who consumes it needs a Power Apps Premium license

Thank you. Looks like the users of my app only needs per app license that cost $5.00.

Thanks for the reply. So if the users of my app has per app license ($5.00) they can use my application with no issues. Is that correct?

    Hi @echodapogi

Yes, as long as it is the license that Power Apps per user app tells you about.
