I’m planning to build custom Copilot agents using Copilot Studio that will be used with Dynamics 365 CRM (Sales / Customer Service).
Could someone confirm the following:
- Required tools / services
- What tools/services are typically required to build and deploy Copilot Studio agents for Dynamics 365 CRM?
(e.g., Dataverse, Power Automate, connectors, Azure components, plugins/APIs, etc.) - Are there recommended best-practice components for enterprise ALM (solutions, environments, pipelines, security roles)?
- Recommended learning paths / courses
- What are the best Microsoft Learn paths or certifications for:
- Functional consultants configuring CRM + Copilot features
- Makers building agents in Copilot Studio
- Developers extending agents (custom connectors, APIs, orchestration)
- Prerequisites in Dynamics 365
- Are there specific Dynamics 365 CRM prerequisites required before Copilot Studio agents can interact properly?
(app modules, environment type, region availability, admin roles/security roles, etc.)
- Licensing clarification (most important)
- Do we need additional licenses beyond:
- Dynamics 365 CRM licenses (Sales/Customer Service) and
- Copilot Studio
…to implement custom agents?
- Specifically, how does licensing work for:
- agent makers vs. agent users
- internal users vs. external users
- Teams vs. web channel publishing
- Copilot Credits / message or session consumption
If anyone has a clear breakdown or links to the most authoritative licensing guidance for this scenario, that would help.
