Anyone familiar with the licensing terms for using dataverse for teams and model driven apps?
I note what is written in the following documentation:
How to check license designation for an app - Power Apps | Microsoft Learn
Specifically, the following:
The only way I can see that a model driven app can enter teams is by importing it from an environment because it is created with premium functionality and runs with dataverse as a data source - i.e. not dataverse for teams used to build the app.
When I integrate an app in teams, and try to access it with a non-premium user, but a user with a Microsoft 365 E3 license, I can see that it is mapped, but without any specific user associated.
I am in doubt whether it automatically assigns a 30-day free trial, or whether I can count on users in the organization to use model driven apps for free, as long as it is from teams?
Hope someone has experience with this.
Yes, all your users need a licence when they access a model-driven app regardless where they access it from. When you share an app via Teams, it is just one way for your users to access the app.
I know that, but I'm not sure if my users of the app within teams need a license if I integrate it into teams. I am in doubt as to how the purple box should be understood.
You can’t have model-driven apps in Dataverse for Teams but you can share it via Teams.
