This app is read-only. You can try to take control by refreshing the page.

Hi, I am having this error when opening my app. I am the only user in the app and I am trying to edit but I am not able because of this error.

When I try to edit I have the following error. "Cannot edit in read-only editor". And it look blocked.

I have already restart the computer, signed in and off and cleared cache. What else can I do?

Thanks for the additional information @Aydeedglz, glad the issue is resolved! 😊

Indeed, when working with the Form control you will have to unlock the DataCard before you can make any changes.

As additional context: When trying to adjust locked properties before unlocking the card, you will be greeted with the following message: 'This property cannot be edited while the control is locked. To unlock, go to the advanced pane.'

By (1) selecting the DataCard, (2) navigating to the right property panel & (3) selecting the 'Advanced' section, you have the ability to unlock the card:

    I hope this helps!

    Hi, I figured out.

That option was not working either. I selected an option that I was not able to edit and went to Card, and in there I unselected the "lock" icon that was there, then I was able to work on it.

Hope this helps to someone else.

    Hi @Aydeedglz,

Normally you should be able to override this via the pop-up that appears below the formula bar:

In case you are not the only developer, you will see the current user using the app in editor mode (ask them to close the app). On my end this warning generally occurs when I don't close the app via the back arrow, but rather close the browser and try to reopen the app in edit mode later on. Another scenario could be that I have the app open in edit mode somewhere else & forgot about it. However, the overrride pop-up always appear in these cases.

Should the pop-up bar not appear, troubleshooting that appeared successful in previous posts, as you tried as well, were:

    • Clearing browser cache
    • Trying a different browser
    • Logging out of your Microsoft account completely
    • Certainly not ideal but worth a mention: waiting or taking a copy of your app (Save As)

Should the issue remain / occur repeatedly, I would suggest logging a ticket with Microsoft Support.

As I unfortunately have not experienced a case where the pop-up bar did not display on my end, other community members may be able to provide more troubleshooting tips. However, I already wanted to provide you with the info above. 😊

If this solves your question, would you be so kind as to accept it as a solution✔️

If you liked my solution, please give it a thumbs up👍
