I am trying to build a bot that will read the documents on a sharepoint site and then provide information about them. We do not currently have teams in our environment so we are trying to do a manual authentication. I have setup the api step by step and it appears to have all the permissions needed. I noticed that we do not have the Graph connector turned on for sharepoint. is this something that needs to be configured before the bot is able to read the data on the sharepoint sites?

definitely, because Sharepoint connector for Copilot Studio utilizes GraphSearch to retrieve the content.

Hi Artur,

Actually it was something much simpler than that. I did not realize that Copilot Studio did not have the ability to read scanned .pdfs. I figured it had OCR capabilities similar to Syntex but I was mistaken.

Hello,

Please, follow this step-by-step guide on how to configure Copilot authentication using Microsoft Entra ID: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/configuration-authentication-azure-ad

Once you have created the app registration with Graph API permissions, that should work. You can also read this article about using SharePoint as Knowledge Source in Copilot Studio: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/nlu-generative-answers-sharepoint-onedrive

Important: This has nothing to do about Graph Connector, which is used by M365 Copilot, but no for custom copilots.
