Unable to see "AAD User" table

Hi,

I'm attempting to leverage the "AAD User" table in order to lookup accounts within Entra ID, although when I view the list of tables or attempt to create a lookup to "AAD User" - I'm not able to see that table in the list.

The first table alphabetically I'm able to see is "Account".

Has anyone else experienced this, or are you aware of any changes or permissions required in order to be able to lookup records in that table?

Many thanks,

    Hi @leekie,

    AAD has recently been renamed to Entra ID and thus the table also got renamed in Dataverse, the new name is Microsoft Entra Identity.

    Hope this helps!

    @EricRegnier You're a life-saver!

    Thanks so much. I'll drop a comment on the Microsoft docs to ask them to update.

    All the best,

    Matt

    Thanks for the details on this.

    @EricRegnier ,

    I have existing applications using "AAD User" entity and unable to deploy new solutions that throws error on dependency of this "Microsoft Entra Identity" . Any idea on how to handle this error?

    Also, I've seen this update only on one environment. Is this something Microsoft needs to update on all the environment or we have to do on ?

    Thank you so much in advance!

    Hi @KrishR, no, MS should have deployed this table and update automatically to all regions. It may be due to another issue. I would raise a new post to get better support and visibility and would help to paste the exact error message on import. Thanks!

    I opened a support ticket last week because AAD User seemed to be disappearing from environments but Apps in those environments were still using the table.

    I still haven't haven't heard back from Support after openeing the ticket, so I was messing around with my browser history (trying to see if I could enter the "missing" but still working tables that way) & discovered I was in the table but the name had changed to "Microsoft Entra Identity".

    I searched "aad user table renamed" to see if the change was announced anywhere online (there's nothing about it in Message Center in the admin portal!) & the only relevant result was this post from 2 WEEKS AGO confirming it.  MS really needs to put something out there (message center, documentation, etc).

    What's strange is a table renamed should impact your deployment. So I guess this is the reason it wasn't largely announced. Did you include all subcomponents of the AAD table in your solution? If so, it's not recommended to do so. Just include the changes (eg column or form) you changed.

    It didn't impact the deployment.

    As I said, the Apps were still using the table without error. 😊

    We just couldn't find the table itself, because we were going to Tables > All, expecting it to be at the top of the alphabetical listing as "AAD User" as it had been displayed before (and still is, in one environment):

    This was the method we'd always used to look at the table itself, so it hadn't occured to us to use the search above (which does still find the table, under its new name) as we do to quickly located other tables without scrolling.
    I agree the table probably isn't widely used (a shame, it has some great usage potential); I'm just saying it would have saved us some time, panic, and prevented the opening of a ticket if it had been announced.  In fact, when I discovered the table rename via browser back button/history, I was still going to wait for the MS support tech to contact us for confirmation, because there was nothing "official" confirming it.
