Alternative for the Image Annotation Control?

(0) ShareShare

Dear all,

Somewhere last year we showcased a mockup of a solution where users could attach images to a Dataverse entity and were able to annotate the image. See the animations in this blog post: Simple Image control for model driven apps | Microsoft Power Apps)

Unfortunately, Microsoft has decided to withdraw the Image Annotation Control until further notice (see one of the last lines in the source blog post).

Now, the customer would like to be able to annotate images inside a model driven app. Are there any alternatives out there to achieve the same as the Image Annotation Control?

Thanks,

Koen

    Hi @KoenJanssensPD ,

    This is only my opinion, but I understand from the last lines of the blog post, that the "Image Annotation Control" was getting ready to reach the "general availability" (GA) and it's not a preview anymore, so can be used in production.

    I see what you mean, but I cannot find how to enable it anyhow; It is not possible to choose another control for image fields...

    @KoenJanssensPD ,

    Try image type column. That will annotate/preview image after the upload.

    To upload image, first we need to create a record same like creating notes.

    If it answers your question, kindly give kudo and accept it as solution.

    Regards,

    Prakash

    Hi, I do not really understand what you are saying. The field is already an image field. I am looking to add annotations (circles, arrows, text,...) onto the image directly using a data driven app.

    Best regards,

    Koen
