Timezone issues

I am creating a mobile app ,in that I need IN-TIME and OUT-TIME of employees must be stored as IST timing but it is considering UTC time by default Even though the input is given like 12:00 PM it is storing in the sharepoint as UTC time
kindly give me a solution

If you are referring to how timings are displayed in SharePoint, please refer to this article to set the SharePoint site settings to display timings in a certain time zone: Date and Time Column Behavior in SharePoint List/Library

Hi

I had similar issues with date/time input saved in SharePoint. PowerApps takes the user local time zone and converts to the site time zone setup in Regional settings (UTC in my case) on the site. I needed to store as entered by user, because managers sit in different time zone and they need to see exactly what their employee are assigned start and end date/time.

1. Check the Sharepoint regional settings is timezone you want
2. I end up to add two new TEXT columns in SharePoint and store the start and the end date time to the text field. Then display in PowerApps this text field values instead of date/time field from sharepoint.

3. As second workaround I was thinking to add another number field where you store the entry user timezoneoffset() when entering the datetime. So you can use this timezoneoffset field value to recalculate for user in different time zone.

The text columns works fine for our scenario.

Not sure what do you with your date/time field, who and from what timezone they open.

Just clarifying a few things that may assist - SharePoint always stores date/time field values in UTC time after converting it when it is written. The regional settings (SharePoint if viewed there) or that of the user's device if viewed in Power Apps then convert UTC to the "local" time to display. A manager looking at the record in Power Apps when they are in the same time zone as the employee has written the data will show the correct time. If they use SharePoint however, the site can only have one time zone in the Regional Settings.

@Zdenka_Cech has some good ideas in their post that you may want to look at - especially #2 if people are looking at the record from multiple time zones.
