dropdown default from SP text field

I have a dropdown in a form that is connected to a SP list.
The dropdown is linked to a SP 'text' field.

Initial save on a 'new' form type works and the value shows in the sp list.

But I cant work out how to set the default value for the dropdown from the SP text column.

It feels like I might need to do a lookup, to the [Items] where the sp list = the item?

Hi @nick9one1

Try this in your default selected items:

{Value:Parent.Default}

Note, this assumes that the Default in your data card for this field is 'ThisItem.YourFieldName'

that worked.

Is there a way to update the sp item if the selected item is removed?

At the moment it all works, but if I select an option, save it then remove it from the dropdown save again, the sharepoint field doesnt get updated and still shows the last selected option.
