Remove a space from variable value which is created from lookup field value

Hi,

How can I remove the space from the extracted value of the department lookup field? I want to compare the value of the field DepartmentPosition with the value of the variable varDepartmentPosition, but I can't remove the extra space from the value of the variable (see label text at the bottom of the form). Thank you!

Hi @BCBuizer,
thank you for your response. Sorry, I forgot to mention the form is generated from a SharePoint Online list. Perhaps it is the reason that my solution does not work.

A workaround may be to use the Replace function, but that will only work if the second character is always a space. For example:
