Hi power apps experts,

I have been experiencing a strange and irritating issue with my app. I have a simple textinput box.
There is a lot of text in this box.

Sometimes, when I am typing text in the first line of textbox. While typing, the cursor jumps to the end of line and I am suddenly typing at the end of line.
This happens multiple times during a day. It always jumps to the end of line.

I have tried placing the text input control in a form, out of a form, changed browser, I am simply not able to fix this issue.

Can anyone help me with this?

Just checked on authoring version 3.24082.13 - values in a combo box are sorting using specified sorting, as opposed to alphabetical.

Jumping cursor is fixed in version 3.24081.8, however this version changes the order of items in dropdowns and tab lists to alphabetical, instead of the natural order specified by the user.

Note that the tab list acted like this a few versions ago and then was fixed. The problem is back, and appears in more than just a tab list.

Same issue here in all model driven apps on different tenants since the last update around 8-9th August. I am in contact with Microsoft support...

Hey guys, I was working with the Power Apps support team who escalated it to the platform devs. They released a new authoring version which seems to have fixed it!

The only workaround I have found that works is to exchange any multiline text input to a classic control.

Hopefully Microsoft will not remove the classic controls until they have fixed this issue.

I basically hid the modern control and changed the update functions to update the textinput.text instead of textinput.value and moved any particular formulas and functions to the new field.

So far in my testing it has worked and triggers updates and saves in the correct place.

I am a noob so if people can verify that would be good.

I can't believe this issue is this old. Over five years.

How can a bug like this be allowed to fester for so long!

It seems to be related to rewriting the state and in re-renders the element forcing the cursor to jump to the end of the text that was added.
