New Activity drop down on subgrid never loads

In our model-driven app, we have the Activities table setup as a subgrid on a form.  For one of our clients, when you click on the "New Activity" button, the drop down of activity types never loads.  It just stays on "Loading..." and I've waited many minutes.  Screenshot attached.

Any ideas on how to get it to load and show activity types available?

Feels like there must be more to this story...

Is there some very large number of custom activities in this environ? Some custom plugin on Activities RM? Some custom PCF for your subgrid?

I just find it hard to believe that the 100% OOB subgrid view somehow fails to work for your one and only one customer and basically no one else on the planet.

The only thing that's not OOB is we limited the Activity type list to Appointment, Email, Phone, and Task.  No custom activities, no plugin, no PCF control.  I have seen the list render slowly in other envs.  But we're talking 4-5 seconds.  In this particular env, it just never renders.

Hi, I was wondering if you ever got a resolution for this problem as it's happening in our environment too

We never did.  We had to add a Timeline control with Activities for them to be able to add new ones.

It occurs to me that modern Commands could solve this. You'd just hide the OOB Add New and add your own Flyout command that lists the various Activity types, then have your action be a Nagivate to a Create New (or QuickCreate) form.
