Hi folks,
We want to archive/export the stale data from dataverse. go through with few community experts told that we should have to go with azure synapse link to export stale data in dataverse. Even though using Azure Synapse Link is great option but we don't want to export all the data and for each insert it increases the file size on azure data lake. we need to know that any option available to export/archive only deleted records from the dataverse? pls suggest me any cost effective ideas.
Thanks in advance
Hi @Anonymous,
How often do you need to perform the archive, and what kind of data volumes? If it's just a moderate amount of data, you could use a scheduled Power Automate flow to retrieve all the records based on some criteria (e.g status inactive and older than X days) and write the data to whatever destination (e.g. Excel, Azure SQL, etc.). Otherwise I would look at Azure Data Factory.

@ChrisPiasecki for the first time backup we might export around 7 tables (8 GB of data) and after that i would say daily basis we might export 50-100 records(table rows). is power automate is good enough for this? solution should be cost effective.
That volume shouldn't be a problem at all, and with 7 tables it's not overly tedious to build a flow to do it. I'd use Power Automate in this case if you don't want to leverage the Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse to export to Synapse/Data Lake. Power Automate will give you more control as you can filter what records you retrieve with the List Rows action for the Dataverse connector.
