Rich Text Editor Text Not Showing in SharePoint List

I had a multiline text field. In the PowerApp list form I removed the regular field and added a Rich Text Editor Field and bound it to the field. When I save the form the data in the field does't always show in the SharePoint list. However, as soon as I filter that field it will start showing. If I export the list it shows in Excel and when I open the form it also shows.

See attached images. This has to be a bug! Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @PoohBear,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Do you custom a form within your SP list using PowerApps?

Further, which browser do you used to custom the form for your SP list?

I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The screenshot as below:

Please check if you have set the Update proeprty of the Action Description Data card to following:

RichTextEditor1.HtmlText /* <-- RichTextEditor1 represents the Rich Text Editor control within your Edit form */

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to clear cache of your browser and remove the custom form from your SP list, then re-create a new one for it, check if the issue is solved.

Kris, I love how you casually say "re-create the new PowerApps form" if something breaks. I have been using PowerApps for two full years now, and I have done some extremely complex forms, including some really long ones. I have never done a PowerApps form with just 2-3 values with no logic. My guess is PowerApps isn't really meant for complex solutions.

This post did end up bring a bug if I recall. However, since this post I build SharePoint list forms completely different because the out of the box PA forms are terrible to work with. I insert a custom card, add all controls, then bind them to the data fields. I use Patch rather than submit form. Building forms this way allows me to copy the form and paste into new list forms if I need to. I build some very complex forms and this platform can handle anything you throw at it. Shane Young has a video if you are interested in building forms this way. I highly suggest his YouTube channel if you do not subscribe already.
