I am in the process of building an app which stores the serial numbers of some equipment we use. I am currently simply typing the data into the table directly since there are lookup and choice option and I can't upload them. I don't want to use the app because its a little slower to use for what I am doing right now.
What I am wondering is why when I put a serial number in twice I don't get an error? Shouldn't the primary key be what stops that? Is there a setting I need to change?
The primary key in the Dataverse table is not the unique identifier of the records. There's a separate column in the table with same the name as your table name with the type "Unique Identifier" for that.
What you can do is, you can use the Import data from Excel to populate your table with the Serial Numbers. I think this will be the quickest way to do it.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Nandit
