Hi powerapps community - have an app where I am displaying the date when the user opens the app, capturing data from dropdown fields, and would like to also save the date to a sharepoint list with the other data fields.

I have tried the Sharepoint list fields as both Text(date2) and Date(Date) formats, but while all the other data saves - the date does not.

Using Patch, here is the full formula (currently to date2(text formatted in SP).

Thank you!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    You need the DateValue() Function

    date2:DateValue(Label_date.Text)

    Thanks, Warren - a value was passed to SP list using DateValue, but it shows as 3/3/2023 (when date is displayed in app as 27.03.2021).

    When I changed the formula in label_date to Today() - the correct date did post to SP as 3/27/2021. Ideally, am looking to display and track the date in the European format DD.MM.YYY. Thanks!

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    What exactly is in the label to produce that result? DateValue() simply converts text in a valid date format to a date value.

    Hi @WarrenBelz , the label was Text(Today(),"[$-en-US]dd.mm.yyy") and display value was 27.03.2021

    @Anonymous ,

    I have never used the xx.xx.xxxx for dates, but try this in your Patch

    date2:
    DateValue(
     Substitute(
     Label_date.Text,
     ".",
     "/"
     )
    )
