Cascading drop-downs on SharePoint lists with lookups in Power Apps

Hey there!

I've tried doing a Google search and reaching out to ChatGPT for a solution, but I'm not having any luck. Can you help me out?

I have an app with the form and 3 SharePoint lists (Station NEW, Department NEW, Job Title NEW) with lookups.

Station NEW

Title
Admin
AKS
REF
TGD
SVG

Department NEW

TitleStation Lookup
AdminAdmin
ServiceAdmin, AKS, REF, TGD, SVG
RampAdmin, AKS, REF, TGD, SVG

Job Title NEW

TitleStation LookupDepartment Lookup
ManagerAdminAdmin
OfficerAKS, REF, TGD, SVGService
CEOAdminAdmin
DriverAKS, REF, TGD, SVGRamp

I have a form with 3 drop-downs: cmbStation, cmbDepartment, cmbJobTitle. I set the Items function to'Station NEW'.Title and similar for other components.

How can I establish a connection between these three drop-downs? I tried to set for cmbDepartment Items:

Filter(Department_NEW, IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) || Station.Title in cmbStation.Selected.Title).

And for cmbJobTitle Items:

Filter(Job_Title_NEW, IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) || Station.Title in cmbStation.Selected.Title).

It's not working. Is it even possible to make this relationship work?

I would be extremely grateful if you could assist me. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @beverlyg ,

    Please try this.

    1/cmbDepartment Items.

    Filter(Department_NEW, IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) || cmbStation.Selected.Title in StationLookup.Value)

    2/cmbJobTitle Items.

    Filter(Job_Title_NEW, IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) || cmbStation.Selected.Title in StationLookup.Value)

    Best regards,

    Rimmon

    The solution for my case:

    • cmbStation Items:

    'Station NEW'.Title

    •  cmbDepartment Items:

    Filter('Department NEW', IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) || cmbStation.Selected.Title in 'Station Lookup'.Value)

    • cmbJobTitle Items:

    Filter('Job Title NEW', (IsBlank(cmbDepartment.Selected) || cmbDepartment.Selected.Title in 'Department Lookup'.Value) && (IsBlank(cmbStation.Selected) ||cmbStation.Selected.Title in 'Station Lookup'.Value))
