Sharing Canvas App on Power Pages Licensing

Hi,

Is this accurate – I have a monthly Power Apps - Per User plan where I can build unlimited apps.  I am authenticating visitors to my Power Pages website through Dataverse and Azure on a per authenticated user basis ($4).  If I embed a Canvas App on Power Pages, they can view it, enter info without limitation if they are logged in as an authenticated user through Azure?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @sl19,

Are the users internal or external? Embedding a Canvas App on Power Pages does not remove the licensing requirement for the Canvas App. The user must also be authenticated via your Azure AD tenant, so it doesn't really work for external users unless that user is added as a guest in your Azure AD.

If the Power Pages site is being used by internal users only, you can license the users with Power Apps Per User which will entitle them to use Power Pages and Power Apps and your scenario would work.

They would be external users (clients) and only be accessing my portal a few times a year.  Trying to figure out if its worth putting an app on there for them to enter info and how much it would cost.

    Hi @sl19,

If it's only a few times per year they will access the system, you should try to achieve your requirement without embedding a Canvas App and avoid assigning specific Power Apps Per user/app licenses. Power Pages licenses by monthly active users (MAU), so you would only need to purchase packs of 100 MAU based on the expected number of unique logins a given month.

I'm just wondering if it's possible for an external user to modify a Canvas app user license. In other words, I have 10 Canvas app licenses for users; can my external users share any of these licenses as needed? Once an external user is finished, would the Canvas license revert to the pool for another external user to access?
