Looking for the Best Approach to Build an Annual Calendar in Power Platform

We are looking to implement a calendar within the Power Platform that offers an annual view, similar to the one shown above.

Do you know of a more suitable solution—one that better aligns with business needs—within the Power Platform ecosystem (Power Apps – Canvas or Model-Driven –, SharePoint lists, Power BI, or any other relevant approach)?

    HI @MargNIOP,

If you only need to see an annual-style calendar (read-only):

    • Solution: Power BI + Year-View Calendar visual (e.g. MAQ’s Year-View from AppSource)

    • Why:

      • Zero custom code—just point Power BI at your Dataverse/SharePoint/SQL data

      • Out-of-the-box Jan–Dec grid with color-coded cells

      • Full slicers & drill-through for ad-hoc filtering and analysis

      • Instant sharing in Teams, SharePoint or embedded in Canvas Apps.

If you need to view and edit your calendar (read/write):

    • Solution: Canvas App/Model Driven App + PCFs (Power Apps Component Framework) (backed by Dataverse or SharePoint)

    • Why:

      • True CRUD: click a date to create/edit events, drag-and-drop to reschedule

      • Conditional formatting via your business logic (e.g. status, priority, owner)

      • Seamless UX—users stay inside your Canvas App with your branding and workflows

      • Leverages Dataverse security roles and metadata for governance

FYI: I just added a sample PBI file from MAQ’s Software (Calendar visual by MAQ's)

Matthew Devaney has posted how to create calendar in powerapps using gallery.
This will help you in step by step implementation.

If your organization allows you add the PCF in tenant use the PCF solution.
