Licenses for Copilot studio and Users

Hi Everyone,

We are planning to build a chatbot and integrate it into our website. We’ve heard about Copilot Studio and thought it might be the right choice. However, from what we understand, we will need to purchase the Copilot Studio licence and a subscription for the number of messages the guests/users will be sending, in addition to the M365 E5 licences for the developers who will manage the solution. Is that correct? We have over 4,000 users who might be asking questions to the chatbot, but as far as we understand, there are no required licences for them?

Hi.

Yes, you need to purchase the Copilot Studio Tenant license (25000 messages/month) for $200 or the pay-as-you-go license. You need not by any extra users for individual users they are only using the agent built in Copilot Studio. As you have 4000 users in your org its suggested that you go for the pay-as-you-go option which is charged at $ 0.01 per message

There are three different Copilot Studio license plans:

Pay-as-you-go: $0.01 per message

Message packs: $200 per tenant, per month

Copilot Studio in Microsoft 365 Copilot: $30 per user, per month
