Editable Grid - Read Only?

Hello,

I have been hitting a wall on this for a few hours.

I created a model-driven app, used a data integration to bring a table from local SQL and store it into an entity called CityMD MDM Facility.

When I view the system view "show as -> editable grid" it won't let me edit the field and says it is read-only.

I have tried using the solution explorer, creating a security role that can read/write to that entity (attached).

I assigned that role to myself with no effect. I also changed my profile to the administrator, and it had no effect.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Could you please share a screenshot about the issue within your Model-Driven app?

Further, have you enable the "Editable Grid" control for your CDS Entity?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. The screenshot as below:7.JPG

Please check if you have enabled the "Editable Grid" control for your custom Entity (CityMD MDM Facility) as below:8.JPG

More details about enabling "Editable Grid" control for custom Entity, please check the following blog:

    https://us.hitachi-solutions.com/blog/editable-grids-from-the-grinch/

Please also check if you have edit permission to the CityMD MDM Facility Entity in your Common Data Service. In addition, please also make sure that your current sign out for PowerApps owns a PowerApps Plan 2 license at least.

Note: If you want to run an Model-Driven app that utilize Common Data Service, your must own PowerApps Plan 2 license for your account at least.

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to re-create a new CDS Entity within your CDS and enable the "Editable Grid" functionality, then create a Model-Driven app based on it, check if the issue still exists.

    Thank you for your feedback.

I did enable the editable grid for the CDS entity on Web.

Could you explain a little more what you mean about:

"Please also check if you have edit permission to the CityMD MDM Facility Entity in your Common Data Service."

When I added the site map level to add the entity, I was able to grant read/write access to the entity.

    I have the powerapps2 license.

I re-created a new entity, however, when I go to add the Editable Grid option, it gets stuck at "Updating Entity..." when I save. I tried this twice.

    HI @Anonymous ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think this issue may be related to your Dynamics 365 server.

Note: I assume that you have enough permission to access your custom Entity already.

Please consider take a try to clear cache of your browser, then try it again, check if the issue is solved. Also please make sure that your Network is in a good condition.

    Best regards,
