How to get records of a user dynamically in model driven apps

Hi,

I am developing a leave request application purely using model driven apps. Is there a way i can get the details of the users dynamically like the user() functionlity in canvas apps?

I dont want the user to be entering their names and email id's manually, the fields should be auto-populated depending on the user.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm trying to develop the application solely using model driven apps. So i wanted to know if i can achieve the same without embedding it in a canvas app.
