Which Tool to use to Develop PowerApps

New to PowerApps.

  • There’s the “Maker Portal” which I think is what I used Microsoft’s free training.  Was at: https://make.powerapps.com/
  • There is “Create Power Apps” used to “…edit and build specific apps.”
  • Somewhere there’s “PowerApps Studio”
  • Based on the conversations with one Microsoft training partner, there’s “App Maker” – possibly that’s the above “Maker Portal” not sure.

What tool should I be using to develop PowerApp solutions for corporate needs?  I need this to determine what training to take. Our first solution requires user input, saving data and possibly storing documentation.  And sorry in advance as this might be way too elementary of a question and/or if this has already been detailed, but I could not find this specific question.

Hi @bcapone9, apologies that nobody responded to this before.

These are all different names for the same thing (sort of)

Maker portal is where you select the app to edit or create new, also allows you to manage and create solutions (make.powerapps.com)

Power Apps Studio is the actual editor that allows you to edit Power Apps once you have selected them from the maker portal or selected to create new from the maker portal. (this is now also loaded under make.powerapps.com so there is no longer a create.powerapps.com differentiation)

In terms of learning and training resources, I would suggest this as a great starting point for anyone of any level:

Microsoft Power Platform: Learning Resources | Microsoft Power Apps

    Cheers,

@bcapone9 You should be using https://make.powerapps.com/ which is called maker portal.

When you Click Create and create a new app what opens is called powerapps studio
