Error when editing and viewing forms - MDA (across different apps, env, tenants and browsers)

When editing forms in a model-driven app, quite often an error message appears on the form (the form is blank and can't be clicked) stating: "Error Something went wrong".

The only resolution appears to be to refresh the browser, losing any changes made since the last save point. It can happen at any point of editing a form and doesn't seem to have a pattern to it.

This is happening on forms for both out-of-the-box tables (account, contact) and custom tables.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips to resolve?

Hi All who have this issue

Clear your browser cache AND your cookies. This fixed it for me. Just clearing my browser cache caused a bad request error when opening the app but clearing both fixed that and this issue for me.

Not a fix, but I'll just say my thoughts on this.

This is happening in many environments I work in at the moment also. I expect makers simply refresh, or go "back" and open the form again (like I do), waiting for Microsoft to fix it. Best thing to do is open a Microsoft ticket, but as it's not "breaking", they will take their time with it. I have a hunch it's to do with Microsoft trying to run custom enabled JavaScript web resources in the actual form editor, but not something I could look into deeply.

If you go into Inspect, and set the overlay to uncheck the Position: Absolute, you can then click the links and button...!

This may give more details to help fix the issue. My issue is reporting 'Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'indexOf')' but all references are in uclient/scripts/MicrosoftAjax.js or uclient/scripts/vendor.js, so I'm no nearer a solution. It seems to be a race condition as often will not error.

I have a feeling this is likely to do with JavaScript, at least in our case. I cannot find the issue but if you are using JavaScript you could take a look at this and see if it helps: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/model-driven-apps/troubleshoot-forms?wt.mc_id=knwlserAPI_inproduct_copilotstudio#intermittent-form-errors

Yes we get this all the time. Seems to have only been happening in the last few months. Cannot click the link. I wonder if this is related to sign in somehow. We also get Sign In message that you cannot click on for any canvas App embedded in the model driven form. This has stopped the creation of a canvas App from the form working too. I need to create a ticket for that, but I sort of have a template and can copy that as a workaround. If you don't have an App already with the integration object, I would be interested to see if anyone else can get that working.

Error when editing forms - model-driven app
This is happening across multiple apps (Dynamics and Power Apps), environments, tenants and browsers. How aren't more people seeing this issue???

It's also happening while editing forms and viewing the app. So, end users could be seeing this too.

A similar looking error appeared when using the app (although I can't be 100% sure it's the same error).

EDIT: This doesn't seem to be the same error that is happening when editing the form (see other reply)

Error when editing forms - model-driven app

Unfortunately, none of the buttons or links on the dialogue box are clickable. So, it's not possible to see the error log. The only action you can take is clicking the browser's back arrow or refreshing the browser.

It's like the error is happening in the preview of the form.

Will try to see if Developer Tools shows anything.

    Hi

What does it say when you click on 'Show Details'? For any troubleshooting, it helps if the error log is available.

    Kind regards
