Power Automate & Microsoft 365 Copilot to modify Microsoft Word (?)

Hello,

Can I use Power Automate and MS365 Copilot to make logic-driven changes to a Word template file stored in SharePoint?

I want something more robust and flexible than a simple string search/replace. I’m looking for an AI alternative to document automation software that uses natural language instructions to modify an existing Word template.

Ideally, the AI should have some context or instruction on how to understand input and make changes to only a few paragraphs of the document based on that input.

The logic won’t be complex.

    Hello,

have you tried to use a simple upload and try to prompt the Copilot with instructions that you like?

Yeah, this doesn't work, I have essentially a complicated contract and I need it to rigidly follow certain requirements of the contract language depending on a large number of variables...

I'm trying to do the same thing. So far it is proving extremely difficult to string together the pieces.

I have an Agent which is registered to M365 copilot so that i can do some specific stuff with prompts and a Sharepoint knowledge source, but trying to add Actions to that Agent is proving to be full of bugs and undocumented feature gaps that (so far) are preventing me from pushing any content through into a document template.
I am imagining we will train a custom model in Azure on how to recognise the inputs and generate the outputs. I think we can create a Word doc using MS Graph - which will be some custom PA work.
